Sep 28 Gophers Swimming and Diving: The Legacy of Former Women’s Head Coach Jean Freeman and the Minnesota Aquatics Hall of Fame Class of 2017

The Gophers Swimming and Diving program has a rich heritage. Fondly remembered practice and competition facilities were replaced by a state-of-the art Aquatic Center in 1990. A few years ago, the formerly separate men’s and women’s teams combined, setting a precedent that other collegiate programs are adopting. This week, a conversation with Senior Associate Head Coach Terry Ganley who’s been associated with Gophers Swimming and Diving since her days as a student-athlete. Coach Ganley traces the evolution of the Gophers program from the mid-1970s to today, exploring the legacy of former Women’s Head Coach Jean Freeman up to the induction of the Minnesota Aquatics Hall of Fame Class of 2017 this weekend.
