Gopher Sports Update

May 18 Former Gophers Football Star Marion Barber Jr. Earns Degree & Softball Team Vows NCAA Snub Will Work to Their Advantage at Tournament

Former Gophers football great Marion Barber Jr. shattered school records on the field nearly 40 years ago. But the NFL came calling in 1981, and Barber left the U before earning a degree.  This month, he officially graduated, fulfilling a promise he made to his family.

Despite a 54-3 record and 25 consecutive wins, the Gophers softball team enters the NCAA tournament unseeded. The women plan to use the snub to their advantage.
